Kelli: Unexpected Pregnancy and C-section With Challenging Postpartum, 2nd Healing Repeat C-Section

Kelli joins us this week to share her story of her two cesarean births. She had an unexpected and difficult first pregnancy that culminated with an unplanned cesarean birth. Kelli was induced but did not progress. After being told about her narrow pelvic inlet and how difficult a vaginal birth would be, a c-section was offered. Kelli felt helpless during her surgery and was left alone after her baby was born. She had difficulty connecting with her baby along with a painful recovery. After a few days, she bonded with her baby but still had difficulty breastfeeding and felt a loss of identity throughout her postpartum journey. Kelli had hopes of a VBAC for her second pregnancy but baby #2 was breech and she had a repeat c-section. She knew what to expect for this experience and had a more gentle birth and postpartum.

Kelli’s experience with her births and postpartum inspired her to create her Instagram to bring more knowledge and power to other pregnant people and new parents.  She shares stories from other parents about their pregnancies, births, postpartum experiences as well as parenting topics. She has created an amazing virtual village so no parent feels alone throughout their journey.
